Restylane

Dermal fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in America. They provide a quick and effective solution to wrinkles and other problems. Restylane is a dermal filler formulated with hyaluronic acid, a substance you could easily find in any part of our body.

This dermal filler is the perfect option for those who prefer a subtle change, or for those who don’t want to undergo any surgical procedure. While the procedure doesn’t last more than 30 minutes, its effects can last up to nine months.

Restylane has several versions, each one adapted to accomplish a specific goal:

-Restylane and Restylane-L are meant to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and Restylane-L contains a local anesthetic called Lidocaine, which can cause allergic reactions in some patients, so be sure to ask your doctor to do a test first.
-Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are meant to treat and smooth marionette lines
-Restylane Lyft is used to provide volume to the cheeks
-Restylane Silk improves the appearance of the lips and line around the mouth.

Application

Restylane provides a softer, natural-looking results, and it’s exceptionally good for shaping contours and erase fine lines. It can be used to lift and shape your cheeks, fill fine lines and wrinkles and provide volume to lips or any other area in the face that has lost volume.

Recovery time

Depending on the injection location and the amount of filler injected, you can expect bruising and swelling to last from two days to two weeks. That’s the main reason doctors recommend to schedule your appointment at least two weeks prior any important event like weddings or photoshoots.

If you want to reduce that downtime after the procedure, you could stop taking aspirin, vitamin E and Motrin two weeks prior the appointment. That will reduce bruising.

Keep in mind that you’ll see final results after the bruising and swelling have gone away, so be patient and wait for it to heal.
