Juvéderm is a dermal filler formulated with hyaluronic acid, a substance you could easily find in any part of our body. Dermal fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in America. They provide a quick and effective solution to wrinkles and other problems.
This dermal filler is the perfect option for those who prefer a subtle change, or for those who don’t want to undergo any surgical procedure. While the procedure doesn’t last more than 30 minutes, its effects can last up to nine months.
Unlike other dermal fillers, Juvéderm’s results are more smooth, as it’s less prone to form bumps where it’s injected.
Juvéderm has several versions, each one adapted to accomplish a specific goal:
-Juvéderm XC is meant to be used in the facial tissue.
-Juvéderm Voluma XC is used for deep injections in the cheeks.
-Juvéderm Ultra XC is specifically meant for the lips area and around the mouth.
-Juvéderm Volbella XC helps correct vertical lines in the lips.
Juvéderm provides a softer, natural-looking results, and it’s exceptionally good for lips and nasolabial folds. It can be used to fill acne scars, lift and shape your cheeks, fill fine lines and wrinkles and provide volume to lips or any other area in the face that has lost volume. Also, it can be used to temporarily change and correct the shape of your nose without the need for surgery.
Keep in mind that all Juvéderm XC products contain a local anesthetic, so you should do an allergy test before the procedure to discard any bad reaction to the product.
Depending on the injection location and the amount of filler injected, you can expect bruising and swelling to last from two days to two weeks. That’s the main reason doctors recommend to schedule your appointment at least two weeks prior any important event like weddings or photo shoots.
If you want to reduce that downtime after the procedure, you could stop taking aspirin, vitamin E and Motrin two weeks prior the appointment. That will reduce bruising.
Keep in mind that you’ll see final results after the bruising and swelling have gone away, so be patient and wait for it to heal.
