Eyelid Surgery

Correct an abnormality or give yourself a refreshing lift with eyelid surgery at the Juventus clinic. The eyes and eyelids are one of the first facial areas to exhibit aging. Bags under your eyes and sagging eyelids can cause negative self esteem, but the good news is that these problems can be repaired.

Eyelid surgery also known as blepharoplasty or cosmetic eyelid surgery is minimally invasive. This procedure significantly improves he look of droopy or tired eye. Q: Is Eyelid Surgery Right for You?

It is very difficult to keep your ears unseen from the outside world. That being said, when you are uncomfortable with your ears, it can be frustrating, embarrassing and even impacts your overall self-esteem. Ear surgery can help a variety of people including children that are teased or embarrassed by their ears as well as adults that are frustrated with how their ears look. In addition, anyone born with a severe ear defect is also a great candidate for ear surgery.

While eyelid surgery has many benefits and is low risk, it still may not be right for everyone. For example, the right candidate for surgery should understand that it is done only to remove bags under the eyes and reduce puffy upper eyelids. In addition, eyelid surgery could restore vision if you are experiencing obscured vision due to excess skin or fat. Ideal surgery candidates are those that:

  • Have puffy upper eyelids.
  • Consistently tired looking eyes.
  • Excess upper eyelid skin.
  • Are at least 18 years of age.
  • In good physical and mental health.
  • Take the risks of surgery into consideration before commitment.
  • Have realistic expectations of procedure results.

It is also important to note that some medical conditions or certain ophthalmic problems could exclude a potential candidate. For example, dry eyes or glaucoma can be enhanced due to eyelid surgery. Additional medical condition that may exclude you from surgery include:

  • Graves’ disease.
  • Cardiovascular disease.
  • Diabetes.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Lack of proper orbital anatomy.

The day of surgery, clients should arrive at the Juventus Cosmetic Clinic in comfortable clothing. It is also encouraged that man have a haircut prior and women braid their hair to keep it away from the ears.

In addition, clients should have arranged pick up from the hospital and someone to stay with them for at least one night after. In some cases, clients will be required to stay in the hospital for one night after the surgery especially if it is extensive or if the client is a small child. This can all be discussed and arranged prior to the day of the procedure.

Q: Children and Ear Surgery

Ear surgery is most common for children between the ages for four and fourteen. Children under the age of 4 have ears that are still developing. However, if your child has a severe defect, they can be considered for ear surgery. No matter what the surgery is for, it is important that parents and children communicate effectively about the risks and rewards of this procedure. A consultation with one of our surgeons can also help children understand. Consultations also serve as a great way to determine whether or not your child is a viable candidate for ear surgery.
